Open Days and Visits

Alternatives to Open Days

Visitors are very welcome to take a self-guided tour of Durham University and have a look around the School buildings, but unfortunately we cannot accommodate individual appointments to speak with staff. We would advise you to attend one of the structured open days in summer annually.

Pre-application open days

We run annual pre-application open days in Durham over the summer vacation to give potential applicants an opportunity to meet staff and visit some of our School facilities.

Post Application open days

Students holding Durham offers will be invited to open days which take place in March each year. These open days will provide you with the opportunity to stay overnight in a college and to come into the Department to learn more about the degree programmes.

Open Days provide talks and tours for the School of Government and International Affairs, with the talk session giving you an insight into the area, how our subjects are taught and why you should study at Durham.

The tours will show you some of our facilities and give you an opportunity to see demonstrations of students' work. We would encourage you to sign up for both a talk session and a tour.
