'Globally engaged, locally embedded, analytically acute, and changing the world in multiple ways, our students are much like its research. And both are at the forefront of the future.'
Professor John Williams, Head of Department
We are a School with broad-based politics and international relations base, we have extensive research activity across a wide-ranging agenda that reflects our long standing rationale of embedding regional studies expertise within core politics and international studies disciplinary strength. Our Academic Groups
We host a range of research centres and institutes. Each of these collectives brings together Faculty and Postgraduate Research students who share an interest in a particular set of related research themes, and each organises regular research activities such as workshops and guest speaker series. The remits of research centres and groups sometimes cut across the boundaries of the academic groups in the School, and across disciplinary boundaries.
