Manus Carey Talk and Q&A (Royal Northern College of Music)
Join us for a short talk and Q&A from the Royal Northern College of Music’s Deputy Principal (Performance and Programmes) and Castle alumnus, Manus Carey.
After graduating from Durham University in 1997 with a first class degree in classics, Manus went on to study at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Kings College London, before starting a job with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. He then went on to work as Director of Creative Programming for the Manchester Camerata and Executive Producer of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra before moving to the Royal Northern College of Music, where he currently works as Deputy Principal (Performance and Programmes).
At the RNCM Manus has strategic oversight of all the performance programme for both students and public venue activity (over 500 events every year) as well as overseeing all the Schools of Study. A central part of this has been the development of ‘Live from the RNCM’, a new streamed series of concerts and conversations. He has been at the forefront of delivering music performance and education before and during the Pandemic .
