Syria Speaks

Join Syrian artists and writers for a unique evening of readings and discussion of cultural resistance. 

This event will mark the publication of Syria Speaks, a unique anthology of uprising literature, art and culture.

A reception will be held at 7.30.

The line-up will include:

Khaled Khalifa award-winning Damascus-based novelist; Khalil Younes cinematographer and video artist; Zaher Omareen writer and filmakmer; Malu Halasa and Robin Yassin-Kassab authors and Fadia Faqir, novelist (currently holds a writing fellowship at St Aidan’s College, Durham University).

Presented in partnership with Reel Festivals, Saqi Books, English PEN, LIFT Festival, Prince Claus Fund, CKU, British Council and the Arab British Centre. This event is in part supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
