Staff Student Consultancy Committee

The Staff Student Consultancy Committee (SSCC) is a forum where appointed staff and students meet to discuss teaching and learning matters. The committee meets three times a year, once each teaching term. Dates and venues of SSCC meetings are published on the philosophy department intranet at the start of the year.

Twelve students are elected to sit on the committee meetings. They represent other students as follows:

  • two representatives for each year
  • one representative for each course type (Single Honours, Joint Honours, PPE, Combined Honours, Natural Sciences)
  • one representative for international/Erasmus/year abroad

Students wishing to be considered for election should contact the department's administrator at the start of the year.

The director of undergraduate studies chairs SSCC meetings and we have a dedicated SSCC secretary who takes minutes and keeps records of SSCC activity. Minutes are made available to all staff and students on the intranet.
