Durham is world-famous for the mining banners made here dedicated to the miners that Norman Cornish put in to his sketches. We want you to make your own mini miners banner.
In 2016 and 2017, archaeologists moved into numbers 18-29 Claypath, to carry out investigation work on the site of the old cinema, snooker hall and garage in Durham City Centre. Visitors can discover evidence of 2000 years of life in Durham in this exhibition; from evidence of one Durham's first Iron Age resident to the medieval rubbish pits and 18th century street-front buildings.
