In 2016 and 2017, archaeologists moved into numbers 18-29 Claypath, to carry out investigation work on the site of the old cinema, snooker hall and garage in Durham City Centre. Visitors can discover evidence of 2000 years of life in Durham in this exhibition; from evidence of one Durham's first Iron Age resident to the medieval rubbish pits and 18th century street-front buildings.
Our group for under 5s and their parents and carers includes fun crafts, messy play, storytelling and singing.
The Durham Light Infantry fought in many wars over the years, including the Second World War, and 8 May, this year, marks 75 years since it ended. Parties were held across Britain to celebrate the news, with bunting and flags brightening up street parties. Make your own to celebrate!
The Friends of Palace Green Library are invited to a range of exclusive events.
Every Monday, our group for under 5s includes crafts, storytelling and singing.
