Colinette Wang, BA Business and Management
I chose Durham because the University offers a Foundation year and I wanted a university with sporting opportunities, as I really love sports. Durham was the top university that had everything I was looking for, and I definitely don’t regret choosing to come here.
I’m based at Queen’s Campus Stockton. Before I came I had been on the website and saw all of the lovely pictures of the Cathedral and I hadn’t realised that there were two campuses. I absolutely love being at Queen’s. I like the fact that it’s small and there’s always somebody I know to say hello to.
I belong to John Snow College and lived in during my first year. The colleges give you a support network and help to get orientated. If you get homesick you have your support officer to talk to, and there’s always someone around to talk to so you’ll never be lonely.
I’m studying business management as I wanted a general course with lots of different career opportunities. We get to do videos, essays and reports which suits me as I’m not amazing at exams. I’m pleased we get other opportunities to show our potential.
I’d like to work in a sport related field when I graduate so I’m looking for internships at the moment.
My experience so far has been amazing, I’ve done more than I could have ever possibly imagined if I’d lived in Hong Kong. I’ve played Basketball, been an international rep at my college, done executive committee work and I’ve even tried rowing. I’ve been here for two years now and I really don’t want it to end.
