Welcome to Durham University!
We are delighted that you are interested in Durham as your study abroad destination.
Durham University is a busy research and teaching community located in the historic cathedral city of Durham in the North-East of England, an area famed for its attractive countryside, coastline and cultural heritage. Founded in 1832, the University is the third oldest in England and proud of its acadedmic heritage.
The University has a total student population of about 18,000, and is home to approximately 3,000 international students from all over the world. The work of the University covers traditional areas of study/education, including key branches of science and technology.
Durham graduates are in great demand among employers and the University helps to attract investment into the region.
You can download our Study Abroad Guide for incoming students to find out how you can spend a year in Durham through our Study Abroad Programme.
Our academic programmes run for the full academic year (October-June) and study abroad students attend the same courses and take the same examinations as students studying a full degree at Durham.
