Erasmus+ Traineeships

The following information is only for students who are considering Durham University as a placement provider for a Traineeship under the Erasmus+ programme outside of a current Erasmus bilateral agreement (i.e. if we don't have an Erasmus agreement in place with your home university).

If there is an agreement in place with your home university, you should apply through your university's international office. Please contact incoming.exchange@durham.ac.uk for further information.

Erasmus 'Traineeships' are part of the Erasmus+ programme and allow students from EU universities to undertake a placement anywhere in Europe. Students may apply for placements in many types of organisation not just at universities. Placements must last at least 2 months and count towards the home degree programme. These placements would usually be unpaid placements.
