What Durham Students Say...
The best thing about the experience is meeting people from all over the world and being part of such a dynamic international student atmosphere. Going abroad certainly broadens your horizons and enriches you as a person.
It was both fun and also academically engaging. I'm very pleased I applied for a year abroad. It was the best thing I have done while at University.Dianne, Law with European Legal Studies, St Mary's College spent a year at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium
There is no doubt about it; the ERASMUS scheme made my year abroad one of the best of my life.
Studying French and Spanish meant I wanted to spilt my year equally between France and Spain ? so, first of all I went to L'Universite Blaise Pascal in Clermont Ferrand followed by a second semester in Alcala Henares near Madrid.
Being an ERASMUS student made my experiences abroad all the more enjoyable. Not only were there many friendly faces to welcome me and help me settle in when I first arrived ? these friendly faces have become friends for life! I met so many amazing people from all over the world and we shared lots of amazing experiences travelling around France and Spain on trips organised by ESN (Erasmus Student Network).
The ERASMUS experience in brief: an invaluable experience to meet new people, make new friends, learn about different culture and countries, and travel (thanks to the ERASMUS student mobility grant!)? become an integrated member of a different European society ? exchange your life!Julia, Modern European Languages and Cultures, St Chad's College studied abroad in France and Spain
Laura, Modern Languages and Cultures, St Chad's College spent her year abroad working and studying in Spain, Germany and France through Erasmus.
