Durham University

Erasmus, Exchange & Study Abroad

Erasmus+ Partners

The Erasmus+ programme is based on agreements established directly with Durham departments. Each department has a variety of partnerships with institutions across Europe. You should contact your Departmental Coordinator for further information.

In addition, there are currently two institution wide agreements in place with the following universities:

Uppsala University - two full year places
Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam - three full year places

Please be aware that if an institution is not linked with your Durham department or is not one of the two institution wide agreements, we cannot guarantee you would be able to undertake a placement there. It may be possible to undertake a placement through another link with permission. Not all partnerships are available for all levels of study. Some institutions have agreements with Durham departments for PG study only.

Combined and Joint Honours students are able to choose from agreements within their subject area/s. Students are required to seek approval from all departments including the Combined Honours exchange coordinators.

Research Exchanges

A number of our Erasmus+ partners allow for exchange at PGR level. It may be possible to undertake a research exchange at an institution not linked to your Durham department. You should use the links above to identify institutions that offer PGR exchange.
