Durham University

Erasmus, Exchange & Study Abroad

University accommodation at Durham University is very limited due to high demand, therefore we are unable to offer university managed accommodation to incoming Erasmus+ students during the 2020/2021 academic year. Students will be requied to source their own accommodation on the private market. Students who live in private accommodation are still a member of a College and we will let you know during the summer which College you have been allocated to.

Living in one of Durham's 16 colleges is more than just living in University housing. College life is a big part of what makes Durham so different to almost anywhere else. Many of our students say that the college system is one of the best aspects of university life. Ask Durham students about living and studying in Durham and they're sure to mention their college, even years after they've left!

Durham City has a variety of flats, houses and rooms in owners' homes spread across the city and surrounding areas. There is no shortage of accommodation in the area so there is no need to panic about not finding anywhere to live. We would strongly advise you to take your time to find accommodation and not rush in to anything.

Durham University does not make any specific recommendations of letting agents, advertising platforms or properties. There are a number of accommodation search sites and Letting Agents that can be found via any internet search engine for 'student accommodation in Durham'.
