College Counselors' Visit 2011
From the 25th - 30th July 2011 Durham University, Newcastle University and the University of York welcomed 12 College Guidance Counselors from the USA and Canada to the North East of England. The visiting Guidance Counselors spent one day with each of the three universities learning more about higher education opportunities in England for their students, and an additional day touring some of the highlights of the north east region of England.
Thank you all so very much for this experience. I have already had conversations with several of my students about your universities. Your efforts to educate us about your schools, and to make sure sure that we had an enjoyable time in northeastern England are greatly appreciated.Jack Lewis, Lake Forest Academy, IL
Please extend the invitation to counselors in public high schools in Canada. There are tons of excellent and suitable students who would want to learn about UK universities and do very well.Blanka Gutatt, Hillfield Strathallan College, ON
Great slate of activities which left one with a good feel of Durham's long history.Alison Uys, Toronto French School, ON
I very much enjoyed my visit to York University, and the city is simply splendid. Thank you for hosting such a terrific tour, along with Durham and Newcastle. It was a very enriching experience and I am so pleased to have gotten to know your university better.Cassandra Xanthos, Dexter and Southfield Schools, MA
I wanted to thank you and the team at Newcastle University for being such wonderful hosts. I really enjoyed the university, city and area. It is such a worthwhile opportunity to actually get to visit the campuses as I can better advise my students. Again, sincere thanks for the superb job you did organizing the trip.Christine Tordon, Ashbury College, ON
