I love the fact that Durham City is small enough for me to walk wherever I need. It's a gorgeous place to live and the scenery never fails to brighten my day.Maroshini Krishna Morgan, Law student
Come and see what Durham University is all about!
If you are thinking about applying to Durham University, a great way to explore the wealth of opportunities on offer is to come and visit us. We host a number of campus-wide open days and visit options throughout the year.
Pre-application open days are the best way to discover all you need to know about Durham University.
With representatives from all relevant academic and support service departments, and opportunities to explore college options, the open days provide our prospective undergraduates with the full experience of Durham University.
A campus tour is one of the best ways to find out if Durham University is for you. Campus Tours are led by our current students and provide an introduction to the Durham student experience and a brief overview of University facilities. There are campus tours of the University most Wednesday afternoons. You can find more information and book a place on our dedicated campus tour web page.
You can explore the University site on your own with the help of our self-guided tours and maps of Durham City: Durham City self-guided tour
UCAS Education Conventions
You can meet Durham University representatives at one of the many UCAS conventions. Our advisors will be available to answer your questions and queries, and provide you with relevant information and guidance on applying to study at Durham University.
Post-application Open Days
Post-application open days offer an interactive study and social experience and provide a realistic insight into life as a Durham University student.
Applicants who are in receipt of an offer from the University will be invited by their college to attend a post-application open day. Letters of invitation will include a link to the online open day guide and booking instructions. Please note: Students holding offers from courses where they have been invited to attend for interview would not usually be asked to attend a post-application open day.
If you have difficulty in accessing the details for post-application open days please contact your college in the first instance who are happy to help. College contact details can be found via the individual college web pages.
For any other enquiries regarding post-application open days please email the Student Recruitment and Admissions Office: firstname.lastname@example.org
Individual visits for international students
University tours are available for students visiting from outside the UK each Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00 and 14:00 throughout the year. Unfortunately guided tours may not available in August and December due to student ambassador availability. You are still welcome to visit the University and undertake a self-guided tour see here. Please submit your request at least 7 days in advance of your visit.
All visits begin with a talk by a member of the International Office team (one hour) followed by a guided tour of the university (one hour). Please note that, in order to minimise disruption to other visitors, we cannot accommodate those arriving more than 10 minutes late for the start-time of your visit. You will be requested to wait until the talk has finished and then join the guided tour.
If you would like to visit please complete the student visit form which can be found here.
