Privacy Notice

The University keeps personal data for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was originally collected. Time periods are set out in the Durham University - Record Retention Management Spreadsheet

Dress Code

Please find below a quick guide that will help you understand the expected dress, according to the dress code written on the invitation or in the email you receive before attending your event. Durham University strongly embraces equality and diversity and guests are encouraged to adapt this code in a way that makes them feel comfortable at the event.

Formal - Formal or semi-formal evening dress or suit, black tie, tuxedos, formal national dress. Cummerbunds are optional.

Academic Dress - Academic gowns (event organiser will advise on what type to wear).

Lounge Suit and Cocktail Dress - Smart or cocktail dress, blazer and trousers, or suit with a tie.

Business Wear - Tailored dress, skirt or trousers with a blouse or equivalent, or suit with jacket.

Smart Attire - Dress, skirt or trousers and shirt, with an optional jacket and tie.

Casual - Casual wear, jeans are acceptable.
