CANCELLED - Guest Lecture: 'Living Parchments on Our Backs: The Body, Language and Violence in Frederick Douglass's Representations of Atlantic Slavery,' by Dr. Celeste-Marie Bernier
Dr Celeste-Marie Bernier, a former student here at Durham, now lecturing at Nottingham University, will be giving a guest lecture on 8 December, Monday, 6.15 (venue to be confirmed).
Dr Bernier has recently published on African American Visual Arts (Edinburgh University Press). Her lecture is directly relevant to the "Telling the South" unit on the American Fiction module, and all students are warmly welcome.
