How to Apply

Applying for the Foundation Programme is similar to applying for other undergraduate programmes, but with some key differences. Please follow our advice below to ensure you give yourself the greatest chance of success.

To apply you should:

  1. Check that your preferred degree programme has a foundation year programme by looking at the course database.

  1. Check that you are eligible to apply. This step is essential because only applicants from under-represented groups in higher education are eligible to apply for the foundation programme.

  1. Check that you meet the academic requirements and additional entry criteria for your chosen subject. You will need to review the course database. Where the course database recommends it, you should contact the Foundation Programme for further details about your chosen subject requirements.

  1. If you are eligible and we offer your subject, please apply via UCAS.

Admissions Process:

  1. Foundation Programme staff will assess your application

  1. If your application is suitable, we will invite you to be interviewed and may offer you opportunities to show your suitability for the foundation year, including a Maths and/or writing assessment.

  1. You may receive either an unconditional or conditional offer, depending upon your circumstances.

  1. You will be required to provide us with evidence of your qualifications

  1. If you chose to come to us, you will be asked to firm your place, AND confirm your place.

Should you have any questions at any stage, please contact The Foundation Programme for advice before taking the next step.
