Image Processing & Computer Vision
Durham maintains has a strong presence in image processing spanning biomedical imaging, computer vision with additional links to related activity spanning visualization and robotic sensing.
The school maintains the Durham Imaging Laboratory to support research in computational vision, imaging, visualisation and distributed virtual environments. Approximately £500k+ of specialist research equipment, (spanning 3D displays; natural user interface devices and high-performance multi-core workstations) funded from a variety of research grants, industrial contribution and strategic institutional investment is used to provide a backdrop to ongoing collaborations including a wide range of industrial partnerships.
