Careers & Personal Development Events
The Careers, Employability and Enterprise Centre (CEEC) provides a wide range of services to all students throughout their studies and up to one year after graduation. CEEC offers specialist information, advice and guidance on a wide range of different sectors, including commercial, public and third sector career paths.
They work closely with employers to offer a variety of events, such as skills workshops, mock interviews, specialist careers sessions and effective CVs and applications, to ensure Durham students are in the best possible position to start their ideal career upon graduation. They also run the Durham Award which provides both undergraduates and postgraduates with the opportunity to reflect upon the additional employability skills they have developed during their time at Durham. The award is widely recognised by employers as a standard of excellence.
Josephine Butler college works in partnership with CEEC to run a series of tutorials and workshops focused on Careers. These sessions are organised in connection with Ustinov, Grey and Collingwood Colleges. Workshops will include 'Writing Successful Applications' as well as drop-in and one-to-one sessions. In addition, the College also runs its own Careers Events with our Resident Tutors and the 'Butler Angels.' These sessions will cover topics such as 'Writing Funding Applications' and 'Thinking of Going into Teaching.' Dates for this term's events can be found on the Student Experience Programme calendar and further details will follow via email.
