Research and Faculty

Research is the lifeblood of the School.

Following the 2014 REF (Research Excellence Framework), 79 per cent of research submitted by staff across Durham University Business School was assessed as ‘internationally excellent quality’ or ‘world leading’, that is 3* or 4*. This result reflects the international breadth and quality of our research.

Our academics are widely-published and internationally renowned. They’re also highly-qualified teachers, committed to ensuring you achieve your full potential.

Our expertise means we’re successful in attracting research funding. Significant funding has been won from research councils; government departments; professional institutions, for example ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) and CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants); and a range of other funding bodies including the Leverhulme Trust.

Our research is arranged around research clusters encourages collaboration and enables the development of ideas that will have an impact on the economy and wider society.
