Assistant Professor (Teaching) in Accounting

Stuart joined the School as a Teaching Fellow in Accounting (Taxation) having previously worked for the University as an external contributor. Since professional qualification in 2002, Stuart has taught across further, higher and professional education on a range of programmes in accounting, finance and taxation.

Biography

Stuart joined the School as a Teaching Fellow in Accounting (Taxation) having previously worked for the University as an external contributor. Since professional qualification in 2002, Stuart has taught across further, higher and professional education on a range of programmes in accounting, finance and taxation.

His research interests coalesce around the social analysis of accounting and the ways in which accounting affects organizational micro-practices. Stuart has completed a PhD in Habermasian accounting colonization.
Roles as an independent non-executive director on the audit, remuneration and standards committees of several large organizations help Stuart to embed employability skills and practice-based learning into his teaching. Stuart is vice-chair of the audit committee of a large regional transport organization. He is also an examiner and marker for several professional accounting, business and banking bodies.
