Durham University has once again been recognised as one of the world’s leading institutions, ranking in the Top 100 globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026.
The University has maintained a place in the QS World University Rankings world top 100, a position it has achieved every year since 2010 - a consistent reflection of its world class research, teaching, and global engagement.
In the latest QS World University Rankings, Durham is placed joint 94th globally and is one of 17 UK universities in world top 100. The University also performed strongly in several key areas, including 64th in the world for reputation for employability, a nine place rise in academic reputation, 22nd in the world for sustainability.
Professor Kieran Fernandes, Executive Dean of Durham University Business School, said:
“We’re delighted that Durham University has been ranked in the QS World Top 100 since 2010. This year, as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of Durham University Business School, the recognition feels especially meaningful. Our contribution to this achievement, through interdisciplinary research and world-class education, reflects the global impact of our work and our shared commitment to excellence and ambition.”
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Business School, celebrating six decades of academic excellence, innovation and global impact. Since 1965, the School has grown into a globally recognised centre for business education and research. The anniversary highlights our longstanding commitment to developing responsible leaders, sharing global insight and building international partnerships.
As the School celebrates this legacy, it continues to build momentum with a strong set of global rankings across a range of disciplines. While formal rankings are a more recent development, we first appeared in the Financial Times Global MBA ranking in 2002. Since the launch of the FT Online MBA ranking in 2014, Durham is one of only two business school’s worldwide to have been featured in every edition of both the FT Global MBA and Online MBA tables.
