This year’s prestigious Annual Higginson Lecture will take place on Wednesday 22nd November 2023. The speaker is Phil Peel, BSc (Hons), MEng, CEng, FIMechE, Chief Engineer at Steam Turbines GE Vernova Steam Power, the 2022/23 President of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. The title is "The steam turbine and its future in a Net Zero world."

Artist Stephen Livingstone will launch his new exhibition "Seabird Necropsy" and local ornithologist Dan Turner will talk about his North Sea coastline seabird project and how the scientist and artist have interacted.
