Biography

Sascha Kraus is Full Professor of Entrepreneurship at Durham University Business School.

He received a doctorate in Social and Economic Sciences (Dr. rer. soc. oec.) from Klagenfurt University, Austria, a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University) and a Habilitation (Venia Docendi) from Lappeenranta University of Technology, both in Finland. Before joining DUBS, he held Full Professor positions at Utrecht University, The Netherlands, the University of Liechtenstein and École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur, a Grande École in Paris, France. He also worked as Visiting Professor at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark and at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and was Participating Professor at the “European Entrepreneurship Colloquium on Participant-Centered Learning” (EECPCL) at Harvard University.

His main research areas are Strategy, Internationalization, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He is the author of more than 100 academic articles, his research being published in outlets such as the British Journal of Management, Entrepreneurship and Regional Development, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of World Business, The Leadership Quarterly, Psychology & Marketing, or Small Business Economics.

The leading German financial magazine “Wirtschaftswoche” ranked Professor Kraus no. 6 of all German-speaking Business & Management professors in the category “Current Research Performance” in 2019, after no. 19 in the "Handelsblatt" ranking from 2014, and no. 50 in the one before from 2012 (here also no. 24 the category "Young Scholar").
