Miss Susanne Karbe

Biography

PhD Student in the Business School

Susanne Karbe is a 1st year PhD student in Economics. Her thesis is titled “The Impact of Financial Frictions on Productivity: The Case of the UK Productivity Puzzle” and it is funded by the ESRC NINE DTP Collaborative Studentship undertaken in collaboration with the Bank of England. Her supervisors are Dr Anamaria Nicolae, Professor Stephen Millard (Bank of England) and Professor Dennis Philip.

 

The policy-oriented research Susanne is currently undertaking sits at the nexus between macroeconomics and financial economics and is of critical importance in understanding the link between the financial system and productivity growth, contributing to our understanding of the role of financial frictions in explaining the UK Productivity Puzzle.
