Mr Wahyu Jatmiko

PhD Student


Wahyu Jatmiko joined Durham University as a doctoral student in Islamic finance in January 2018. Prior to his doctoral study, Wahyu has worked at the National Alms Agency (BAZNAS) of Indonesia as a senior researcher. He was also a researcher at the centre for Islamic economics and business, University of Indonesia and a lecturer at the same institution. Wahyu holds an MSc in Islamic finance from the University of Durham, UK, and a BEc in Finance from the University of Indonesia.

Research Interests

  • Wahyu’s research is focused on the critical essays in Islamic finance which consist of the three following papers.(i)Can trade credit salvage Islamic banking? (ii)On the design of sukuk for infrastructure. (iii)Reinvigorating Islamic private equity.
