Mrs Caroline Beston
Caroline joins the Business School having worked for Marriott Hotels International for 16 years commencing her career in hospitality at the Grantham Marriott Hotel. Relocating with her husband back to the North East in 2005 following the birth of their son, Thomas, in 2004 Caroline joined the Newcastle Marriott Hotel Metrocentre shortly transferring to the Sunderland Marriott and then onto Durham in 2011. Caroline’s career has seen her thrive in Events Management culminating in the position of Senior Event Manager before changing direction and moving to the role of PA to the General Manager at Durham followed by her last role as the hotel’s Sales Researcher. Throughout her early career Caroline also took the opportunity to broaden her experiences by working ad-hoc events such as Wimbledon, the races at Castle Donnington, rugby at Twickenham and various musical festivals. Away from the office – Caroline enjoys DIY/interior designing, gardening and walking in the Lake District.
Caroline is responsible for providing comprehensive support in all areas of Doctoral Programme administration.
