Mr Johannes Schmalisch

PhD Student

Johannes is a doctoral candidate at the Durham University Business School. His primary research interests lie in organisational ecology, organisational theory, and the effects of categorisation processes and the organisational identity.


Prior to taking up his PhD studies in January 2016, Johannes has completed a Masters in Management (Int. Business) with distinction at Durham University Business School. He also obtained a BSc in Economics from the University of Munich (LMU). In addition to his academic commitments, Johannes has gained work experience through a number of internships and is involved in various extracurricular activities. Amongst other things, he is a mentor at University College and volunteers for CCA (Castle Community Action).
