Like all colleges, in order to ensure a mix of students, we have a quota for each subject area. In Van Mildert there are three Common Rooms.

Junior Common Room (JCR)

Undergraduates who are studying for three- or four-year degrees belong to the Junior Common Room.

Middle Common Room (MCR)

Postgraduates who are studying postgraduate courses, ranging from one-year vocational courses to Master's degrees and doctorates, belong to the Middle Common Room.

Senior Common Room (SCR)

Senior Members of College who are college staff, college tutors, university academic staff, members of the local community, and alumni belong to the Senior Common Room.
