Doctrine in the Life of the Church

Building on his own existing research interests, Mike Higton is leading a strand of work related to the teaching of doctrine around the Common Awards partnership. What is doctrine for, and why should anyone care about it? What does it mean to teach it well?

Some of these questions were addressed in the recently completed ‘Doctrine after Christendom’ project. Other aspects are now being explored in a small project on ‘Doctrine Teaching in the Common Awards Institutions’ and a larger project on ‘Understanding and Christian Doctrine’.
