Congratulations to CCS members Stefano Cracolici and Giles Gasper

(16 July 2018)

We are delighted to report that CCS members Stefano Cracolici and Giles Gasper have each been promoted to Chair (Professor).

Stefano is based in the School of Modern Languages and Culture and is one of the instigators of the CCS's research programme area in Catholicism, Culture and the Arts. He co-organised the CCS's First International Conference on Catholicism, Literature and the Arts in 2017 (audio-recordings from which can be found here); the second conference in this series is planned for July 2019.

Based in the Department of History, Giles specialises in the intellectual history of the high middle ages (11th-13th centuries), particularly in the development of theology. He also has interests in Patristic and early medieval thought, and in the history of science. Giles works with Rik Van-Nieuwenhove and others in developing the medieval theology dimension to the work of the CCS, and will give a Catholic Theology Research Seminar on creation theology in November 2018.

To Stefano and Giles we offer hearty congratulations along with thanks for their highly valued contributions to the CCS over the years.
