Nonwithstanding its Christian foundation and heritage, St John's College welcomes students of all faiths and beliefs.
Our College Chaplain, Susie Thorp, provides pastoral support for all students and staff. The Chapel is an active space for prayer, contemplation and worship. See Chaplaincy for more on the Chapel and our Chaplain. Click here for more information on Welfare and Support provisions within St John's College.
We endeavour to accommodate for all requirements. If you have a query on any special needs, our Senior Tutor, or our Chaplain, Susie Thorp are always happy to help.
There are also several University-wide Chaplaincy services: Buddhist, Christian, Muslim and Jewish. For more information follow this link https://www.dur.ac.uk/faithsupport/ . Beyond St John's own Christian Union, a variety of faith based student societies exist at a university level (http://www.durhamsu.com/groups).
