The Venerable Janet Henderson

Currently researching and writing on the subject of worship as encounter with God, others and self, I’m Spiritual and Pastoral Care Manager at St Michael’s Hospice, Harrogate, overseeing social work, occupational and complementary therapy and chaplaincy. I’ve been Archdeacon of Richmond in North Yorkshire, a residentiary Canon at Ripon Cathedral, a parish priest in Nottingham, a lecturer in Liturgy with the Cambridge Theological Federation and at St John’s College, Nottingham, and a renal and haematology nurse at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. I’ve served as a Director on the Council of St John’s College, Durham, and as a Trustee of Marrick Priory, an outdoor adventure and education centre in Swaledale. I have been involved with a number of Fresh Expressions and was as one of the founding trustees of in Harrogate. When not otherwise busy, I love swimming, blogging, walking, playing the piano and having friends round to dinner with my husband, Dave Challoner.
