Ester Petrenko

Ester is Portuguese and studied for the Bachelor and Master Degrees in Bible and Theology at the Continental Theological Seminary, Brussels, Belgium. She subsequently studied at the University of Durham, UK (PhD in Biblical Studies). After finishing her studies, Ester and her husband, Victor, moved to Latvia (2006) where she is now the Academic Dean of the Latvian Biblical Centre (2008-present). In 2010-present, she was appointed Senior Lecturer for Graduate Studies and Extraordinary Research Fellow at Northwest University (RSA)& Greenwich School of Theology (UK). In 2011-present, she was also appointed Associate Professor at the Norwegian School of Leadership and Theology, Oslo, Norway.

Ester’s teaching and research interests have focused on: New Testament Studies, New Testament Theology, and Second Temple Judaism. Her publications include: “Fazer a Diferença na Sociedade em que Vivemos” ([“To Make a Difference in Society]inTomé, B. C. [ed.] Mulheres em Missão [Women in Mission], Lisbon: Sig. Soc. Ind. Gráfica Lda., 2015); ‘Created in Christ Jesus for good works’: The Integration of Soteriology and Ethics in Ephesians ([Paternoster Biblical Monographs], Milton Keynes/Colorado Springs/Hyderabad: Paternoster, 2011). She is also a member of the Society of Biblical Literature; British New Testament Society, and Fellowship of European Evangelical Theologians.

Ester is currently working with two publishers for the publication of one chapter of a book and one commentary on Ephesians.

Publication of Chapter on Reconciliation in Ephesians with: LIT Verlag Berlin-Münster-Wien-Zürich-London - This chapter will be part of a book and will be published in 2018.

Publication of Commentary (Central & Eastern European Bible Commentary): The Langham Partnership Publisher - This will be a commentary on the whole Bible and it is planned will be published in 2020 or 2021.
