Dr Alice Thompson

Dr Alice Thompson was the winner of the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction and was shortlisted for Stakis Scottish writer of the year. She has been awarded Major British Academy Award for the writing of her PhD on Henry James. Previous Editor of The List Magazine, Edinburgh and winner of Creative Scotland Award, Alice has is the author of seven highly critically acclaimed novels, which have been reviewed favourably by Stephen King, Ian Rankin, Ali Smith and Fay Weldon. She is currently teacher of Creative Writing at Edinburgh University and Visiting Fellow for St John's College at Durham University (2018). The Book Collector was recently the subject of a lecture given at The Scottish Parliament on Scottish Literature.
