Postgraduate student welfare team (MCR)
The Middle Common Room (MCR) has a dedicated welfare team offering peer support to Johnian postgraduates, complementing the support available from the Senior Tutor's Office:
The MCR Vice-President/Welfare officer works closely with the SJCR Welfare team. They provide an initial point of contact for those in need of support, and work to advertise and organise welfare services and events.
The MCR subcommittee members each has a specific role, promoting and distributing information pertaining to that role, but together assist the MCR VP to organise and advertise events, and signpost to sources of welfare support. The subcommittee consists of an LGBT+ rep; a mature students rep; a mental health rep; and a livers-out rep.

Postgraduate Wellbeing Handbook
The MCR is thrilled to have published a Postgraduate Wellbeing Handbook. This collaborative effort between St John's and Ustinov contains advice, submitted by students, for taking care of your wellbeing and your mental health while you study for a postgraduate degree. It also contains signposts to further sources of support and advice. Being a postgraduate comes with its challenges, but we hope this handbook will help to break the silence around postgraduate mental health and wellbeing, encouraging us to care for ourselves and one another in tangible, practical ways.
