Durham University

St John's College

Social space

College Bar – Our bar, run by Johnians for Johnians, is famous throughout Durham. Tucked away in the cellars of College, our bar is small but full of character. With some of the cheapest drinks in the University, it’s a favourite among students. There's also the Upstairs Bar for when the cellar bar gets busy.

Bailey Room – The main social space in College, this room is used for SJCR meetings, Open Mic nights, film nights, among other events. Throughout the day it’s a place to relax on the sofas or play table football or pool on some of the only free tables in Durham!

Crossroads – An alternative working space to the Library, Crossroads is the perfect place to work with friends. With its own kitchen, microwave and coffee machine it’s great for livers-out who still want to work in College.

Leech Hall – This is our big multi-purpose hall in the centre of College. Most days it is used for teaching but in the evenings, it hosts Formal Dinners, music events, theatre productions and much more!

Bowes TV room – Whether you want to watch a film with friends, or organise an all-night election result party, this is where to do it. Filled with comfy sofas, it’s the ideal place to relax.
