Music

The College chapel is home to the chapel organ: a small, electric action instrument of two manuals and pedals reflecting the neo-classical trend of the 1960s. It is available for use by John's students when a Chapel service is not taking place. There are also upright pianos located in the Bailey Room and a Steinway/Boston grand piano in Leech Hall that can be played by students.

The College chapel is also home to the seventeen strong choir, who lead the singing during worship. They have been invited to sing at both Durham and Ripon cathedrals, and are a regular feature on Radio 4's Daily Service programme. The College offers a scholarship to students who sing as part of the choir during their studies.
