All Years Reunion 2019
It was wonderful to welcome back over 60 Johnians for the All Years Reunion, 20th - 22nd September 2019. The student days of those present ranged from 1958 to 2003. The weekend was packed; from tours of Durham and the Cathedral, a visit to the university art collection, a quiz in the college bar to a formal dinner. There was also a look around the brand new Learning Resource Centre - our most recent building project and now the home of the college library - and the opportunity to hear from the Principal, Revd Professor David Wilkinson, about St John's College today.
The next All Years Reunion is likely to take place in summer 2021. Exxact dates to be confirmed in due course.
Did you learn all there is to know about Durham Cathedral while you were a student? Don't worry if not! There's a guided tour of the Cathedral and access to the Open Treasure exhibition as an optional event for this reunion.
The Curator of Western Art for the University will give a guided tour of the University Art Collections currently in store and undergoing cataloguing. This will be an opportunity to see behind the scenes into a fascinating world of the hidden art treasures of the University.
Have you ever wondered where your old class photos ended up? During the All Years Reunion, you can experience Palace Green Library and get exclusive access to the archives where the past is preserved. Old photos from your time at John's will be on show especially for your visit. Don't miss this opportunity to see how times have changed!
See how the landscape of Durham has changed since your student days during the reunion. Richard Roberts will lead a walking tour during which we will explore some of the significant changes in the buildings and landscapes of Durham - both tower and gown - over the last 50 years.
