Research Seminar: From lesson study to self sustaining system improvement
This will be a virtual research seminar using Zoom. Contact ed.research@durham.ac.uk for details about how to take part.
Dr Peter Dudley, lecturer at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge has described his research seminar follows:
In this talk I will briefly outline the background of lesson study and focus on ways in which it has contributed to improved learning and teaching in the UK and around the world as well as how it has promoted improvement at system levels (locally and nationally) across groups of schools engaged in self-sustained collaborations. Finally I will describe ways in which lesson studies in Japan contribute systematically to their national education-research-policy eco-system in ways from which I believe we in England currently have much to learn.
