Dr Lewis Griffin: Next-generation image analysis for security: semantics and anomalies

1:00pm, E240

I will describe recent work at UCL that aims to go beyond a suite of detectors trained for specific classes of object for X-ray security image analysis.

For semantic analysis we are attempting to directly classify an image as containing danger or illegality, which requires inference in object semantic space as well as image appearance space. For anomaly detection we attempt to detect appearances or semantic categories that fall outside of what was present in benign training data.
