Education plans for 2020-21
Professor Stuart Corbridge, Vice-Chancellor of Durham University, said: “We continue to plan for a full residential and educational teaching offer in October, with a timetable in place to run the 2020-21 academic year as normal. However, in the event that we need to maintain social distancing, we are also making plans for a ‘blended’ education offer in the Michaelmas Term.
“In this scenario we envisage most or all of our lectures until December will be online and asynchoronous. We will, however, aim to deliver a large amount of our small group teaching as we would normally, to ensure our students get as much face to face contact with their teachers and peers as we can safely provide.
“We will continue to work with our staff, students and Trade Union representatives as we develop these plans.”
