Durham University

Department of Mathematical Sciences

Open Days

The best way to find out more about living and studying at Durham University is to come on one of our pre-application open days.

The Durham City Pre-Application Open Day

The university runs campus-wide pre-application open days at its Durham-City campus in the summer and early autumn . The events provide an opportunity for those interested in applying to Durham to visit and see academic departments, colleges and central facilities, including sports facilities. There is likely to be a limited amount of university run accommodation available. The event will require pre-booking, and will be managed by the university's event organisation, Event Durham.

Open Day presentation

There will be an opportunity to meet maths academic staff and to view some of our teaching facilities.

Post-offer Visit Days

Congratulations to all of our offer holders!

Post-offer Visit Days are an opportunity for those applicants holding an offer with us to sample the Maths course. Applicants will be invited by their college to attend a visit day (we endeavour to make decisions as early as possible, but regrettably a small number of students may not have heard back from us regarding a decision made on their application before the date of the open day. We will make alternative visiting arrangements for these students).

Campus Tours

Campus Tours are led by current students. They provide an introduction to the Durham student experience and a brief overview of University facilities. You can find more information on campus tour web page
