Durham Doctoral Teaching (DDT) Fellowships enable students to study for PhD in one of the Department's leading research groups, while at the same time acquiring valuable teaching skills that will support their career progression. Typically Fellowships include a 1 year teaching position alongside a PhD studentship. How the time is divided up is agreed between the DDT Fellow and the Department.
The Fellow's research activity will be supervised by a member of academic staff in the Department. They will also be assigned a mentor from the Education & Pedagogy Group who will provide supervision and support for teaching-related activities.
In order to be considered for a DDT Fellowship you should apply as normal for a PhD position in your research group of interest. Applications received by 1 January for PhD positions starting in Autumn will be considered for all available PhD studentships.
