Staff-Student Consultative Committee

The Staff-Student Consultative Committees exist to provide an effective means of communication between the department and students. They discuss all aspects of students' academic experience in modules and programmes offered by the department. The meetings are generally student-led, with student representatives raising issues that they have collected from the students. The department also uses these committees to consult on changes to the operation of existing modules and programmes or the introduction of new ones.

There are three Staff-Student Consultative Committees (SSCCs). SSCC A covers undergraduate modules contributing to the single honours programme. SSCC B covers undergraduate modules which do not form part of the honours mathematics programme (i.e., mathematics courses for students on other programmes), and the postgraduate SSCC covers taught postgraduate programmes. Each committee meets once in Michaelmas term and once in Epiphany term.

Agendas and minutes of the meetings are placed on the "Maths Undergraduates" module in duo, to enable all students to access them. Agendas will be available at least 5 days before the meeting, and minutes will be made available shortly after the meeting.
