Applied and Computational Mathematics

Our current research interests include:

  • Numerical analysis: timestepping methods
  • Partial differential equations, with applications to elasticity and fluid dynamics
  • Optimal transport: mean-field games and applications
  • Spectral theory: non-self-adjoint operators
  • Kinetic theory
  • Mathematical biology: Protein structure topology and dynamics, biologically active fluids and rheology
  • Magnetohydrodynamics: numerical simulation of magnetically dominated plasmas, topological analysis of vector fields, solar magnetic field modelling
