Maths HEP Lunchtime Seminars: New results in gauge theory from non-perturbative strings

Presented by Alba Grassi, ICTP

10 March 2017 13:00 in CM221

In the first part of the talk I will review some aspects of a recently proposed duality between topological string and the spectral theory of trace class operators. In particular I will show how this duality provides a non-perturbative formulation for topological string theory on toric background.
In the second part I will present some new results for supersymmetric SU(N) gauge theories in four dimensions which follow from the non-perturbative formulation mentioned above.
