Topological Solitons Seminar: Hyperbolic Gibbons-Hawking spaces, monopoles and the Helmholtz equation

Presented by Guido Franchetti, Hannover

18 May 2016 13:00 in CM221

In this talk I will discuss a technique for constructing hyperbolic monopole by relating them to smooth instantons on a particular kind of Gibbons-Hawking spaces. This technique provides a convenient way of constructing singular hyperbolic monopoles. For smooth monopoles it reproduces the JNR method, but offers new insight about it.
