Numerical Analysis Seminars: Swarming models with repulsive-attractive effects

Presented by José Antonio Carrillo, Imperial College London

12 February 2016 14:00 in CM105

I give an overview of the different levels of description of collective behavior models highlighting some of the interesting mathematical open problems in the subject. Calculus of variations, dynamical systems, mean-field limits for PDEs, kinetic and aggregation-diffusion equations naturally show up as necessary tools to solve some of these questions.
